Today FerryBoxes are advanced well-established systems with a significant contribution to the marine observations in EU waters.
The dynamic evolution seen during the last years is associated with a number of challenges such as the integration within the existing networks; data management issues in consideration with the EU initiatives (Copernicus, EMODnet); the design and production of FB specific sensors; and last but not least the scientific value of FB measurements.
